(Ridge Heights police chief) John Benruble on driving: One of the hardest easy things to do is driving. I often wonder how many times or how many years someone has to drive before they can figure it out. Seriously! It's not much more than stay in the lines, obey the signs, and signal your intentions. It's really easy, but it's actually hard because of the drivers that just don't get it. Crossing the center line around bends is the one that irks me the most. Slow down and stay on your own side of the f$%^ing road! I asked a gentleman I pulled over why he liked to ride the center line. He said that he was afraid someone might force him off the road if he didn't.  "I guess a head-on collision would be better?" I asked.  I didn't get an answer. Then there are the people making turns. Some use turn signals, and some don't. Some use turn signals, but they don't turn them on until they're half way through the turn. What the h^)) for? Everyone already knows what they're doing. Then there are people that don't have a f$%^ing clue when making turns. In one day, I saw three drivers use their turn signals, but they made the turn in the opposite direction. I'm not kidding! Three in one day! I pulled everyone over for a sobriety test and, believe it or not, they were completely sober. YIKES! One of the other things about turns that bothers me are the drivers who slow down to turn, then halfway through the turn slow down even more. MAKE THE F$%^ING TURN! If you're going to make a turn, then make it. Make the turn and get off the road and out of everyone's way especially when you see colored lights and hear a siren behind you. Use the turn signals, go the right direction, and MAKE THE F$%^ING TURN! Wow! Just ridiculous sometimes!

Hopefully, you have insight to what I see on a regular basis while I'm on patrol, but I have to go.
